  1. Installation Instructions

  3. This patch was designed to correct an incompatibility which prevents Art Explorer Deluxe CD's from installing onto Macintosh systems that do not support 4-bit color (16 colors).  Some newer PowerMacs often do not support 4-bit color.

  5.                                            *** IMPORTANT ***
  6.  
  7. This patch must only be installed while the Art Explorer Deluxe CD installer is running.  You should remove this patch from your system AS SOON AS THE INSTALLER completes its operation.  The patch will otherwise cause compatibility problems with other programs if it remains on your system.

  9. To properly use this file, follow these directions:
  10. 1. Copy this file to your Extensions folder (in your System Folder) and restart your Macintosh.
  11. 2. Insert your Art Explorer CD-ROM and double click on the installer.
  12. 3. Complete the installation of Art Explorer and quit the installer.
  13. 4. Move the "HasDepthPatch" from your Extension folder to your trash.  Empty your Trash.
  14. 5. Restart your Macintosh.

  16. Keep this patch handy in case you need to reinstall the program on your system again.
